Writing & publishing a book requires an investment of time, energy, and yes, money! We’re specifically talking about the dollar, dollar bills y’all.
Let’s first establish that your dreams matter, or at least they should. If you have a hint of skepticism about whether the previous statement is true(?), I’m here to give you a firm kick in the rear end to get you into gear about publishing your book(s).
Now that we have that out of the way, I want to share with you 3 reasons why you should invest in your book projects.
Joyce Brothers said, “A strong, positive self-image is the best possible preparation for success.” Its action! Sure, a lot of people talk about publishing a book, to the tune of nearly 90% of the American population according to a recent article by publishing expert Jane Friedman. But, are you a talker or a doer? The act of investing in your dreams and goals demonstrates a healthy belief in yourself. It says to the world that you believe in you.
If you don’t, who will?
If you don’t believe your ideas, your content, and your product is worthy of your time, energy, and money; why should anyone else believe? Why should people believe in you, or better yet, support you, if you won’t? Ouch. Ok, so here’s that firm kick, lol. We all have the responsibility of teaching others how to treat us, right? Well, your book project is no different. If you want people to respect, appreciate and support you; get busy doing your part by setting the tone.
You start a wave of positive outcomes
Now I say this with a hint of optimism. Not all content isn’t created equal; but you get the point. We all have something meaningful to share with the world, so why bury it? Once you buy in to the notion that you, your ideas, your words are WORTHY, through consistent action; you will attract opportunities to be more and do more. It will set you on a course of expansion. Even if it happens gradually it’s far better than the alternative? Does doing nothing suit you better? Another firm kick.
